I know, I know, it's been ages since I put up a recipe. And believe me, I've cooked up a small storm. It's just I haven't taken the time to format and upload ingredients and directions. Call me busy.
BUT -- in the meantime, I need your help, oh Happy Trailer Park Tribe: What the heck is this that we're growing in our prolific backyard meadow? Hint: There's a ring of it around the bird feeder, and nowhere else.
Besides, what else you gotta do besides watch the Super Bowl?

brocolli?

That's what we were thinking. But having never seen a broccoli plant, I wasn't sure. I guess they have pics on the Internet, huh?

Looks like broccoli or a broccoli relative. What are the contents of your bird seed?

I never know -- I toss the bags as soon as I empty them into the used Folgers can. :) It's a variety of "wild bird" or parakeet seed, depending on if the feed store's open or if the box store's having a sale. So if it's broccoli, then I guess once it's flowered, all hope's lost for eating it?

I'd eat it.

Andy -- I know! And I grabbed a leaf the other day after feeding the birds, laid it on the counter with intentions of steaming and tasting it, and then life got exciting... The wilted leaf didn't look very appealing. But there's plenty more! I promise, I'll eat one.
